Produced by Rafael Cambra, the wine La Forcallà de Antonia perfectly encapsulates the new wave of Valencian wines.

This Spanish red wine is made solely from Forcallà or Forcayat, a late-ripening variety indigenous to the Valencia region with a floral, fresh and high-acidic character that is quite rare among Mediterranean grapes. On the verge of extinction some decades ago, the Forcallat variety is in the process being recovered by a new generation of Valencian winemakers.

The grapes are sourced from ungrafted vines over 50 years old grown in sandy soils. This red wine from Valencia was vinified with 50% stems contact and macerated for 21 days in stainless steel tanks. After that, the red wine La Forcallà de Antonia 2022 was aged for 10 months in a big oak vat and in used 500-litre French oak barrels.
